Uptown Charlotte Real Estate
With its bustling businesses, residents and attractions, Uptown Charlotte has a unique atmosphere and friendly spirit that makes this vibrant community a well sought-after location for homeowners. Center City is also the hub of Charlotte's banking industry, which is also the largest banking center in the Southwest with corporate offices for many major banks including Bank of America, Wells-Fargo and BB&T. Offering exceptional economic progress and Southern hospitality, Charlotte has experienced a surge of growth that shows no sign of slowing down. Uptown is a high-energy environment just steps away from stores, restaurants, bars, clubs, medical centers, galleries, museums and more.
No matter your interests, the possibilities are endless. The Levine Museum of the New South and the Mint Museums offer extensive art and history collections. Discovery Place and ImaginOn present interactive exhibits and educational programs in a fun learning environment. Sports fans can watch the Carolina Panthers football team play at Bank of America Stadium, or cheer on the Charlotte Bobcats at Bobcats Arena. The landscape of Uptown is constantly evolving so even if you can’t find what you’re looking for now, there’s a good chance it is on its way.
Uptown Charlotte is made up of four sections that each offers its own unique attributes. The First Ward has developed from a low-income housing district to an exciting cultural, arts and entertainment area. In addition to residential and commercial properties, the Children’s Learning Center and Carolina Theater make their home in First Ward. Second Ward encompasses many of the city and county government offices, convention center, Mecklenburg Aquatic Center and the Charlotte branch of the Federal Reserve Bank. Even though the ward has no residential properties, this area has its share of businesses, shopping and dining opportunities.
Third Ward includes many of Charlotte’s major entertainment venues including the home of the Carolina Panthers, Bank of America Stadium. This revitalization by association has caused the surrounding neighborhoods and commercial district to grow as well. North and west of the stadium is a residential neighborhood of single-family homes, apartments and condominiums, and the west side of this ward includes the new mixed-used complex of Gateway Village. Finally, Fourth Ward represents a traditional view of the city with historic neighborhoods mixed with new construction. Houses, offices, restaurants, art galleries and high-rise communities provide plenty of options for residents to experience the charm of Uptown.
